The wholesome food day gained probably the most of attention when employees treated themselves to apples and natural juice at the lunch table, and the dishes were prepared following all the healthy nutrition rules.

Working group highlights social responsibility

Open and regular reports on the activities of the company and making the needs of the immediate environment heard are the elements that ground the socially responsible existence of the particle board manufacturer Swedspan Girių Bizonas in Kazlų Rūda town. Swedish Embassy visits Kazlų Rūda-based companies from the IKEA Group

Since as many as two large Swedish capital companies are based in Kazlų Rūda, it is hardly surprising that the town often enjoys visitors from Sweden. This time it was Ambassador of Sweden Cecilia Ruthström-Ruin and her colleagues who paid a visit to the particle board manufacturer Swedspan Girių Bizonas and the furniture manufacturer Swedwood Kazlų Rūda.

The competition for support held by Swedspan Girių Bizonas with intention to sponsor good initiatives has finished. After a thorough selection and considerations three winners were chosen. Amazing prizes for winners of race walking competition

In the beginning of summer, when the world was only preparing for the Olympic Games, mood for sports was felt in Swedspan Girių Bizonas. Employees of the company participated in the competition called Žingsniuojam į Londono olimpines žaidynes (Let's race walk into the London Olympic Games). By using a pedometer thirteen participants "have reached" the capital of Great Britain and the first three won the winner titles like in the real Olympic Games.

The IKEA Industry Group Manager Leif Hultman visited the SWEDSPAN Giriu Bizonas plant on 10^th of September 2012. Swedspan, an international producer of wood-based panels and belonging to the IKEA Industry Group, has implemented an investment program for the plant in the last years and increased the capacity of the production significantly.

Memories were revived at the meeting of Swedspan Girių Bizonas veterans

Swedspan Girių Bizonas Community Fair that took place in May was marked by an important arrangement: many of plant ex-workers met on that day. Decision to organize a separate meeting with veterans has been taken. It took less than two months to carry out that promise; on July 12, approximately half hundred of plant veterans gathered in a cosy Swedspan Girių Bizonas conference hall.

Swedspan Girių Bizonas starts its financial year on September 1. Thus, the company's festivity in September is jokingly referred to as the New Year celebration. "Swedspan Girių Bizonas" had a celebration in a „cowboy spirit"

"Swedspan Girių Bizonas" marked the beginning of the new financial year starting in September with a festival in sporty style. Celebration was held for the second time in two years, its purpouse being spending some time together informally, to feel the togetherness and reinforce relationships.
"Swedspan Girių Bizonas" is into sports, so there were basketball and football games, relay, and other competitions going on, involving all the guests of the festival, divided into teams. Cowboy themed event guaranteed a special atmosphere.

Environment Impact Assessment Programme of the bio-plant is approved

All responsible institutions approved the environmental impact assessment (EIA) programme of Swedspan Girių Bizonas for building and exploitation of the bio-plant. On Monday the favourable decision was made by the Environmental Protection Department of the Region of Marijampolė (EPDR of Marijampolė) of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, and the action completed the first stage of the process.

The employees of ‘Swedspan Giriu Bizonas', jointly with suppliers and representatives of forestry departments, planted saplings in the Forestry Department of Prienai on 13 May. Although the weather forecast was to derange their brilliant plans, nature was benevolent – the rain came pouring down only after all planting activities had been completed.

Biokuro jėgainės įrengimo poveikio aplinkai vertinimo programos pristatymas visuomenei

Š.m. gegužės 13 d. baigėsi UAB „SWEDSPAN Girių Bizono" paskelbtos naujos 82 MW biokuro jėgainės įrengimo poveikio aplinkai vertinimo programos, kurią parengė UAB „Sweco Lietuva" pristatymas visuomenei.

Pagal planuojamą ūkinę veiklą reglamentuojančius teisės aktus veiklos organizatorius privalo atlikti planuojamos ūkinės veiklos poveikio aplinkai vertinimo programą ir poveikio aplinkai vertinimo ataskaitą. Parengtus dokumentus veiklos organizatorius turi pristatyti ir aptarti su visuomene bei suderinti su atsakingomis institucijomis.

Visuomenė su parengta programa galėjo susipažinti bendrovėje „SWEDSPAN Girių Bizonas" ir „Sweco Lietuva" bei Kazlų Rūdos savivaldybėje. Dokumentas taip pat paskelbtas bendrovės interneto svetainėje www.swedspan.lt.

Time for Clean-Up

At this time of the year Swedspan Girių Bizonas is a hive of activity. The spring clean-up virus which will spread all over Lithuania during the Darom 2011 action hasn't passed by this company either. It's not only that it hasn't passed by – it has actually overwhelmed it at the start of the week! Once a decision was made to join the Darom 2011 action, clean-up at the enterprise started a bit earlier. On 12 April the staff of the company were invited to take part in the atiDAROM action organized by the Swedspan Girių Bizonas in order to collectively make the grounds of the enterprise nicer.

Annamarie Velic: Most Importantly – Don't Devalue People

It has been more than two years since the company ‘Swedspan Girių bizonas', manufacturer of wood shaving panels, has been operating as part of the concern Swedspan that belongs to the IKEA corporate group. On 21 March „SWEDSPAN Girių bizonas" together with the Municipality of Kazlų Rūda (Lithuania) commemorated the global Earth Day 2011 that had been solemnised in the country for 19 years so far. The Spring Equinox Festival was overshadowed by a tragic string of disasters caused by an earthquake in Japan. In solidarity and sympathy with the Japanese Nation, sakura trees that bear a deep symbolic meaning in Japanese culture were planted in Kazlų Rūda Park.
