UAB ‘Swedspan Girių Bizonas' Introduces Environmental Impact Assessment Programme of New bio-plant

On 29 April, UAB ‘Swedspan Girių Bizonas', manufacturer of particle board, announced the environmental impact assessment programme on the installation of 82 MW bio-plant. Environmental impact assessment programme prepared by UAB ‘Sweco Lietuva'.
Making a comment on the importance of installing a new bio-plant, Regina Zasienė, Manager of UAB ‘Swedspan Girių Bizonas', emphasised that ‘switching from currently imported natural gas to biofuels will allow to reduce carbon dioxide footprint and optimize use of energy resources.
Following legislation that regulates target economic activities, the organiser must carry out the environmental impact assessmentprogramme of a target economic activity and make a report on the environmental impact. The prepared document should be introduced by the organiser and publicly discussed as well as harmonised with liable authorities.
The society will be able to get acquainted with the prepared programme in the premises of UAB ‘Swedspan Girių Bizonas' and UAB ‘Sweco Lietuva' as well as in the Municipality of Kazlų Rūda. The document is also available on the company's website www.swedspan.lt.
